This position is responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients as per physician directives and departmental protocols. The ideal candidate will work autonomously in both acute and critical care settings, consulting with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide optimal treatment options. Proficiency in treating patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, is essential.

Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This role is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or manager.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or equivalent, or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or being a senior student graduating within three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina, or eligible for licensure. BLS certification is required, as well as maintaining NBRC credentials. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may have Certified Respiratory Therapist status.
New hires since June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist score and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation within this period may result in termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required for work in the Children’s Hospital within the NICU and PICU prior to independent work.
Other Required Skills and Experience
The ability to work effectively in a team setting is crucial. Strong communication, computer skills, and organizational skills are necessary.
