Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS) within the College Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), seeks an outstanding faculty member for a 9-month tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Master of Healthcare Administration program beginning August 2026.
The successful candidate will become one of ten Healthcare Administration faculty members serving approximately 400 graduate Healthcare Administration majors, have a wide-ranging Healthcare Administration background, and be able to teach a variety of graduate-level courses. The accelerated curriculum operates on a 7-week model whereby semesters are divided into two 7-week terms, 6 terms in all, across the academic year. Moreover, the successful candidate will conduct research, publish articles, write grants, mentor students, and provide community engagement and service to the program, school, college, university, and profession. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate to Southeastern North Carolina or the Wilmington area and maintain a campus presence as part of the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences faculty. Required Certifications or Licensure Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program is housed in the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS) within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The MHA curriculum is a 100% online asynchronous accelerated program (OAP) that prepares graduates for administrative roles in healthcare settings.
