Controls Engineer
Position : Controls Engineer (Hardware Focus)
Location : Luling, TX
Main Responsibility : As a Controls Engineer in the Automation, Controls, and Data team at X-Bow, you will design and implement control systems for our growing energetic material production facilities and various rocket motor test stands using various hardware including PLC's, VFDs, instrumentation, and / or robotic arms. This position is located at Luling, Texas with travel required to other X-Bow sites.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain company-wide safety / design standards.
- Create schematics for new and as-built configurations using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
- Experience implementing controls systems in hazardous areas (Class 1 Div 1 / 2)
- Support multiple programs simultaneously while ensuring high levels of quality and safety.
- Use P&IDs to generate BOMs and commissioning schedules.
- Work with cross-functionals teams, vendors, and suppliers.
- Develop and refine skills related to robotics, controls, safety systems to support both project execution and training of operational staff
- Assist with assembly of control cabinets, harnesses, and general hardware installation
Important Skills :
Familiarity with industrial automation components such as 4-20ma / 0-10V analog inputs and outputs, switches, and is knowledgeable with motor drives, and 6 DOF RobotsGitlab / GitHub or other code repositoriesProduce maintenance manuals / schedules for in-house designsCODESYS, TwinCAT, or other PLC Programming suitesQualifications :
BS in Engineering with 2+ years of experience or MS in Engineering.

Strong background in networking architectures including hardware such as managed switches, access points, and routersExperience with data visualization toolsRead and follow mechanical drawings and assembly proceduresNational Instruments LabVIEW10+ years experience
