Psychiatrist 2 : License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. HELPS program : Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and have certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. Alternative : Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b / 55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Psychiatrists at OMH facilities are eligible for : Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000 Supplemental income of up to 50% of salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverage Defense and Indemnification Protection- broader in scope than typical medical malpractice coverage OMH sponsored Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program All OMH employees receive a generous benefits package including : Excellent opportunities for advancement & professional growth Generous paid time off NYS medical, dental, & vision insurance NYS Retirement programs – NYS Pension and Deferred Compensation In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and / or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. Psychiatrist 1 and 2 (NY HELPS), Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, Canarsie Clinic, P27055
Duties
Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to serve as the Clinical Leads of multidisciplinary treatment teams. Positions are available in (CPC) inpatient units.
As a Psychiatrist at KPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered and recovery focused treatments to individuals with mental illness 18 year of age or older; including :
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
- Creating treatment plans including medication management
- Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
- Providing individual and group psychotherapy
- Supervising Psychiatric Residents and Fellows

Salary : PSYCHIATRIST 1 : $256,651; PSYCHIATRIST 2 : $269,202. This position is eligible for a Downstate adjustment of $4,000.
