What You Will Do :
As the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, development, operations, and continual improvement of all business solutions provided to the Employment Department by the ITS section. You will provide oversight for the implementation of technologies for this agency in alignment with the CIO's vision and direction. In addition, you will have primary responsibility for the Operations strategy and direction for the IT portfolio of services. The DCIO also serves as second-in-command to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and participates in executive-level decisions and development of policies, priorities, plans and budgets to achieve the objectives of the Agency. The position's job duties require you to have a similar level of expertise to the CIO, as the Deputy must fill in for the CIO regularly. In this role, you will also :
- Manage the IT organization and provide strategic directions to support the agency's business needs.
- Work with staff, department heads, external vendors, and maintain relationships with peer agencies, the State Data Center, Office of the State CIO, and Legislative and Financial management from DAS.
- Be responsible for ensuring the security of agency assets and compliance with state and federal law.
- Support the CIO in guaranteeing that the IT Department contributes to the agency's mission, purpose, and intent to provide a sound-operating platform to launch new initiatives.
- Be responsible for managing key IT contracts for the organization and developing and reporting key performance metrics for the IT division.
- Carry out the agency's affirmative action, diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and responsibilities.
