Position Summary
Works primarily under the supervision of the Day Crew Supervisor and Terrain Park Manager. Works in a utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another, monitoring and maintaining terrain features in the freestyle parks and other locations in a scheduled cycle established by the Supervisor. Acts as host regarding crowd supervision, safety awareness, education, Freestyle Terrain etiquette, and guest relations.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
Responsible for continued maintenance, raking, and shoveling of all features in each Terrain Park.Install and maintain park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing, banner tape, and ropes.Responsible for the daily placement of Terrain Park Flags with drill and event banners, as necessary.Assist in the installation of Terrain Park features.Ride the parks and be a presence on snow, rain, or shine, acting as host.Open and close the Terrain Parks daily, following the parameters established by the Supervisor.Assist, in any manner, with photoshoots, events, contests, etc., within the terrain parks or any other area, as assigned.Understand that job hours may vary and run long with a focus on weekends, holidays, and events.Responsible Implementation and adherence to all risk management, health, and safety protocols.Educate staff and guests on all safety items set forth by Mt Bachelor Resort, Smart Style, and the Responsibility Code.Individually, the terrain park day crew is expected to follow uniform guidelines and be communicative with other mountain operations teams as called upon.Be able to effectively communicate terrain park needs to a manager, supervisor, or mountain ops director when called upon to do so.Secondary Function
SnowmakingAssist in fixing damaged features and other fabrication projects.Assist ski patrol and other departments, as necessary.Assist in digging out lifts or lift turnstiles as needed.Assist in any other duty asked by a director, manager, or supervisor to support the resort's operations.Job Scope
The job operates within the established parameters. The terrain park attendant is accountable for their on-hill staff actions.
Interpersonal Contacts
Converses daily on terrain park matters with guests, supervisor, ski patrol, terrain park manager, terrain park grooming staff, guest services, risk management, or any other department as needed to support resort operations.
Specific Job Skills
Technical : Able to ski / ride in the terrain parks at an intermediate level.License / Certifications : Valid driver's license (preferred).Physical Capabilities : Able to lift 20lbs, stand for long periods.Additional : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Education / Related Experience
Minimum education required : A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. At least one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.Minimum time in related position : Terrain Park or manual labor experience preferred.Physical Demands
