Job Description

About the Role :

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing manufacturing processes within the aerospace industry, ensuring high-quality production standards and efficiency. This position focuses on the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing methods and tooling, including fixture design, to support metal fabrication operations. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, ensuring precision and compliance with engineering specifications. A key outcome of this role is to identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce production costs. Ultimately, the Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry, specifically in metal fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for fixture design and manufacturing process development.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining and additive manufacturing.
  • Experience with manufacturing process automation and robotics integration.
  • Advanced degree or specialized training in aerospace manufacturing engineering.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes and tooling for aerospace metal fabrication projects.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to ensure product accuracy and compliance.
  • Design and validate fixtures and tooling using SolidWorks to support efficient and repeatable manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on manufacturing defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to optimize workflows and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Document process changes, create work instructions, and maintain manufacturing process records.
  • Support new product introductions by developing scalable and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
  • Monitor manufacturing environment conditions and recommend improvements to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Skills :

The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize their expertise in aerospace industry standards and metal fabrication techniques daily to design and refine manufacturing processes that meet stringent quality requirements. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is essential for interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring parts meet precise specifications. SolidWorks skills are applied to create and modify fixture designs that facilitate efficient and accurate production workflows. Root-cause analytical skills enable the engineer to investigate production issues systematically and develop sustainable solutions that enhance product reliability. Additionally, the ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment requires strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
