Summary

As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical care to victims of emergencies and deliver advanced life support from the initial contact until the patient is handed off to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide ambulance standby services when necessary.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments accurately in patient care software.
• Care for patients in medical and traumatic crises, offering therapeutic and life-saving interventions.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment such as resuscitators and defibrillators effectively.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illness promptly to prioritize medical treatment.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions while driving and operating emergency vehicles with caution.
• Administer medications under medical direction through various methods.
• Communicate with receiving medical personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain hygienic conditions within the ambulance following patient transport.

Physical Demands

The role requires lifting over 50 lbs, pushing / pulling up to 140 lbs, and carrying 80 lbs short distances. Frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead is required.
