Job Summary :

Pioneer Engineers, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Inspector to join our CEI team. This role involves advanced-level inspection duties for roadway, bridge, and infrastructure construction projects throughout the state of Florida. The successful candidate will ensure contractor compliance with FDOT standards, specifications, and safety regulations, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining accurate project documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct daily field inspections on roadway, bridge, and infrastructure construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with FDOT Standard Specifications, Design Standards, CPAM, safety protocols, and environmental requirements.
• Perform complex technical tasks in surveying, layout, field testing, and engineering computations.
• Monitor and guide junior inspectors and coordinate with the Project Administrator.
• Document construction progress, material usage, non-conformities, and testing outcomes.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, photographs, and field notes.
• Participate in punch lists, commissioning, and QA / QC activities.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Support final estimates and assist with project close-out procedures.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or bachelors in civil engineering or construction management preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway and / or bridge construction inspection
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and FDOT project platforms (e.g., PrC, MAC, SCOC).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
