Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for maintenance / support and monitoring of the local area network (LAN) and / or wide area network (WAN). Part of the SSB infrastructure team with the ability to communicate effectively across geographic lines.
  • Troubleshoot technology-related problems that may include carrier issues, routing, switching, wireless AP and wireless controller issues, datacenter performance, packet loss, latency issues, system connectivity, and hardware failures.
  • PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KNOWLEDGE
  • Supports in place network solutions to meet the business and operational objectives for business continuity solutions
  • Follow standard administrative processes and procedures for supporting Production environments.
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate life cycle for supported technologies, including technology risk, refresh, migration, and retirement.
  • Analyzes network performance, modifying as needed, per documented process, to improve throughput and effectively utilize network resources.
  • Maintains relationships with critical IT infrastructure service providers. Ensures appropriate tasks are managed by in place service providers
  • Identifies key areas for improvement to align with department and company objectives.
  • Implements break / fix solutions as needed to improve network stability and performance.
  • Responsible for managing the Incident and Service Request queues for SLA driven resolution
  • Participate in projects of small to medium complexity.
  • Executes in-place procedures to prevent and reduce the severity of outages.
  • Assists with the installation and testing of network infrastructure upgrades, working with the systems and applications teams as needed.
  • Provides quality assurance for engineering designs of junior team members
  • Daily review of wireless network / APs.
  • Create reports and alerts for the wireless networks to be proactive in support
  • Responsible for On-Call coverage
  • Travel Required : +50%
  • must have a valid Passport

IT Skills and Experience

  • Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years of data communications experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mid to large, complex IP-based
  • networks.
  • 2+ years of experience in using Network monitoring and management solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, HSRP, & MPLS)
  • 3+ years of experience with layer-2, layer-3, and / or layer-4 network protocols and technologies (like TCP / UDP,
  • ISCSI, NFS, Fiber-Channel, SMB)
  • 2+ years Cisco / Meraki.
  • 2+ years Wireless handheld scanners.
  • Label Printers.
  • Network hardware installs or replacements
  • Experience with Microsoft Servers and print services

  • Windows OS (e.g., XP, Vista, Windows 7, 10)
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • PCLaptop hardware
  • PCLaptop peripherals, including printers
  • Mobile devices
  • Basic knowledge of :

  • Active Directory
  • Exchange
  • Apple OS
  • SCCM
  • Experience in a similar role
