What You'll Do
- Respond and promptly resolve service requests for repair / service of dental equipment (i.e., dental chairs, dental lights, delivery units, handpieces, etc) for the School of Dentistry.
- Schedule, perform, and maintain records for the preventative maintenance of dental equipment for the School of Dentistry.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions with associated dental equipment (i.e., SIM Lab, curing lights, amalgamators, Caivtrons, handpieces, etc) used in all dental clinics.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, specialized tools, and precision instruments necessary for specific dental equipment.
- Interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic flow charts, schematics
- Maintaining work records, operation manuals, and parts inventory
- Contact dental equipment manufacturers and vendors regarding parts, troubleshooting, modifications to specific equipment, compatibility issues, and other pertinent information to support a business / technical task.
- Attend in-service technical training sessions with dental equipment manufacturers / vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, supplemented by technical training in electricity, mechanics, electronics, and hydraulics.3-5 years work experience in the modification and repair of scientific, mechanical and electrical equipmentReasonable knowledge of the methods and process of infection controlExcellent customer service skillsMust be goal oriented and able to successfully receive and promptly complete tasksMust have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demands with attention to detailAbility to work well in a team environmentDemonstrates excellent attendance recordBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and interfaces necessary for on-the-job responsibilities.Desired Qualifications
Experience servicing dental equipmentAbility to read and interpret schematics, drawings and repair or maintenance specifications.Work Schedule
This position schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5 pm, with occasional weekend work required.
