Required Education requires a high level of responsibility, dedication and attention to detail. Must possess an excellent motor vehicle and safety record with at least a three (3) year history of driving with no citations. Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills. Description of Duties
- Prepares and maintains records pertaining to vehicle operations.
- Perform thorough daily vehicle inspections.
- Fuels vehicles and performs minor maintenance cleaning.
- Follows all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
- Adheres to schedules
- Provides excellent customer service to passengers.
- Performs related duties as required. Supervision Received General and specific instructions from supervisor. Supervision Given Instructions to other drivers when assigned. Required Education High school graduation or GED. Preferred Education None. Licenses / Certifications
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B license with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsement is required for shuttle busses and other personnel carriers. Obtaining and maintaining a Texas driver's license is a condition of employment. Required Experience One (1) year of experience driving a shuttle, bus, tram, comparable truck, or passenger van on a commercial basis. Preferred Experience None. Equipment Ability to operate vehicles of the type owned by the University. Preferred : Ability to use automotive tools in performing minor repairs. Experience working with ADA equipment, i.e. wheelchair lift. Working Conditions Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Exposure to weather and driving hazards. Other Knowledge of motor vehicle operations, passenger, traffic rules and regulations, ensuring proper maintenance of motor vehicles and exercising proper safety precautions when operating a vehicle.
