Key Responsibilities
Reporting Structure
This position is non-management and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or a similar authority, eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or current senior students graduating soon.
Required Certifications
Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or eligibility for licensure, along with BLS certification. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may be certified as Certified Respiratory Therapists.
Those hired after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at Registered Therapist cut scores within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the Clinical Simulation Exam within this period will result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications must be acquired before independent work in the NICU and PICU.
Other Skills and Experience
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment, along with strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are essential.
