Job description

Forensic Building Science, an inspection firm specializing in analyzing causes of building failures, is looking for a well-organized and hard-working individual to inspect all types of structures affected by defective construction, natural disasters, fire, water loses and other failures. Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time to out of state job sites. Work from home when you are not traveling.

Experience :

  • Ability to perform inspections, including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, and sloped rooftops.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to observe and take pictures and notes of assigned property for various conditions including damage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication.
  • Work independently in remote environments (field and home office).
  • Working collaboratively with employees and partners.
  • Working knowledge of all types of roofing materials, various types of exterior cladding.

A Combination of the Following Experience is Required :

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the following fields :

  • Public / Independent Adjusting,
  • Inspection of residential, commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Registered Roofing Consultant and or Registered Roof Observer and / or Similar IIBEC Classes and certificates a plus.
  • Experience in the field of Construction a must .
  • Familiarity with Xactimate a plus

    • Required :

  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently, on, and around buildings of all varieties, sizes and heights.
  • Able to lift 45-60 lbs
  • Articulate and professional communication skills
  • Good Driving Record.
  • Clear background check.
  • 3 professional references.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments.
  • Familiar with safety and technical equipment (OSHA30)
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Very comfortable learning new software and troubleshooting basic IT issues on a laptop, phone or tablet.
  • Located near a major airport.
