Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician Intern, you will play an essential role in our dynamic team. Your expertise will contribute to creating a patient-focused Pharmacy environment that nurtures strong relationships with our customers. You will help us deliver exceptional care, meeting patient needs while achieving the best outcomes for patients, team members, and the company.

Job Description

  • Experience Required : 0 to 6 months
  • Education Required : High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or Licensing Preferred : Pharmacy Certification
  • Lifting Requirement : Up to 25 pounds
  • Age Requirement : At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed with kindness and a smile as they enter the pharmacy.
  • Exemplify superior patient care by actively engaging with them, addressing their needs, processing orders in-person and over the phone, and routing inquiries about prescriptions to the pharmacist.
  • Keep the workspace organized and tidy, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve department efficiency.
  • Utilize pharmacy software effectively to maximize productivity and enhance patient service at various stages such as drop-off, will call, drive-thru, and payment processing.
  • Work with your team to implement action plans aimed at improving service metrics.
  • Engage in all company initiatives and programs to foster a thriving workplace.
  • Complete the mandatory training program and necessary examinations.
  • Comply with all company, state, and federal guidelines, including HIPAA regulations.
  • Process sales transactions accurately following established cash register procedures.
  • Ensure data from prescriptions is transcribed correctly for accurate labeling.
  • Help maintain appropriate inventory levels through proper ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating products as per company guidelines.
  • Answer phone calls professionally and ensure customer inquiries are resolved efficiently.
  • Address customer questions and concerns through effective communication with customers and the management team.
  • Organize and file written prescriptions on a daily basis.
