Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Transplant - Liver Transplant Program

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day, 5x8-Hour (08 : 00 - 16 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 3-5 years acute-care hospital nursing

License : Valid State License

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

Epic experience
Ability to triage and prioritize patient issues using critical thinking skills

Job Description :

Work as a member of an inter-disciplinary team integral to clinical transplant services.

Act as a liaison between patients and staff members of the transplant team (physicians, social workers, financial counselors, psychiatrists, etc.).

Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients.

Screen and educate potential recipients and direct the evaluation process.

Facilitate committee reviews and direct additional testing and update testing.

Manage the patient waiting list.

Provide initial and ongoing patient / family education in various settings.

Collect and evaluate patient laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, consults, and regulatory requirements.

Provide post-transplant cross coverage for essential functions.

Assess patient and family needs, develop a plan of care, implement, and evaluate the care delivered.

Work closely with all members of the inter-disciplinary team.

Practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications :

Adult care nursing experience

Transplant nursing experience (inpatient or outpatient setting)

Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator

Additional Notes :

Candidates will float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby.

Modules are completed pre-start and connected with transcripts.

Compliance and submission details have their specific deadlines and requirements. Return staff policy and modules timing are also noted. COVID-19 and flu vaccine requirements vary. Explorations into floating opportunities within hospital systems are anticipated.
