Our Story

We started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, we acquired four hospitals, some additional care facilities and real estate for the future development of hospitals. Over the years, we've grown tremendously in size, scope and capability, building a home in new markets over time, and curating those homes to provide a compassionate environment for those entrusting us with their care.

Today, we are leading health system and services platform that continues to evolve in lockstep with community need. Tenet's operations include three businesses - our hospitals and physicians, USPI and Conifer Health Solutions.

Summary

The Surgical Technician assists with the nursing care of the patients in the OR by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice and policy and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse at all times. The Surgical Technician serves as a scrub nurse, but not independently as a circulating nurse. Other duties include stocking, replenishing, preparing, and / or selecting supplies and equipment for storage or use during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technician assists with housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the OR. Activities are directed toward achieving desired patient outcomes. The Surgical Technician demonstrates the ability to interpret information to identify the patient's age specific needs and provides appropriate care for the age group in question. The Surgical Technician performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent, or On The Job Training
• Basic Life Support
• Certification in the field preferred
