Mineral Processing Laboratory Technician :
The primary responsibilities of a mineral processing laboratory technician are to carry out the tasks assigned to him / her by the Metallurgical Engineer, Sr Metallurgical Technician, or the designated supervisor, safely and efficiently. These tasks are varied, and you will be trained for each specific task you will be asked to perform.
The following list includes most of the tasks that are to be performed by the Metallurgical Laboratory Technician. Most of these tasks will have a written procedure and will be preceded by training prior to starting any task.

Environment
Inside environmental conditions : Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Noise : There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Vibration : Exposure to oscillating movements of extremities or whole body. Atmospheric conditions : One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin : Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Oils : There is air and / or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Hazards : Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is required to wear a respirator.
