Must-Haves :

Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of safety and environmental experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Hands-on experience with OSHA, EPA, ADEM, NFPA, DOT, and other regulatory compliance

Strong background in safety and environmental inspections, audits, and corrective actions

Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs (lockout / tagout, confined space, PSM, fire protection,

Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels

Proven ability to respond to emergencies (hazardous materials, fire, smoke, unknown hazards)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data reporting / analysis

Preferred but Not Required :

ERT (EMT, Fire Brigade, HazMat) experience

Knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems

About the Role :

We are seeking a Sr. Safety & Environmental Specialist to lead and manage safety and environmental compliance programs at our Mobile, AL facility. This role is critical in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting both employees and the environment. You’ll partner with leadership, employees, and contractors to maintain compliance, reduce risk, and foster continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs (LOTO, confined space entry, fire protection, PSM).

Manage and support environmental compliance programs, including ISO14001.

Conduct hazard analyses, inspections, and audits; recommend and track corrective actions.

Investigate safety / environmental incidents, identify trends, and prepare reports.

Provide safety and environmental training for employees and contractors.

Respond to emergency situations and serve as part of the Emergency Response Team.

Collaborate with leadership to align safety and environmental strategies with company goals.
