We are an established 8 doctor orthopedic office celebrating 30 years in practice looking to hire excellent staff to join our team.

We are looking for an energetic employee with at least two years of Orthopedics, specifically foot and ankle. We want a team player with a positive outlook that promotes a healthy practice that takes pride in doing a job well.

We love our patients and enjoy working in a professional and inviting environment and we are looking for the right candidate to compliment the already great staff we enjoy.

Job description

As a Medical Assistant / float you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. This is an important position which entails filling in for the medical assistants when they are out, maintaining the clinical flow and helping out where and when needed, training and help preserve the positive energy and team work mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Recording / documenting and reviewing patient information related to visit along with other related information such as allergies, medications and social / family history
  • Room patients
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Triage patients
  • Update and file medical records
  • Assist during medical examinations
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Wound care to include suture and staple removals
  • Vital signs
  • Drawing up medication
  • Insurance authorizations
  • other duties asked of them

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management and efficiency skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Socially adaptable with excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software (EHR)
  • Certification in medical assistance
