job_description.job_card.job_descriptionConsistent 10-hour day shifts with full-time hours Opportunity to assist in diverse surgical procedures with growing autonomy Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits Employer-supported retirement plans Generous paid time off and certification support Strong team culture with experienced mentors and interdisciplinary collaboration Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program Certification as a Surgical Technologist First Assist (CSFA or equivalent) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Eligible for applicable state or facility-level credentialing Prior first assist experience in a hospital or outpatient surgical setting Strong understanding of anatomy, surgical techniques, and operative instrumentation At least one year of experience as a first assist preferred New graduates with robust clinical training in surgical assisting will be considered
Position Overview
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively as a first assist across a variety of surgical specialties
- Provide direct patient care including preoperative skin preparation, draping, retraction, hemostasis, and wound closure under surgeon supervision
- Collaborate with operating room staff to ensure sterile field integrity and surgical flow
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Support patient positioning and safety measures throughout the procedure
- Document relevant surgical activities in the patient medical record
