Your Role & Responsibilities
Define and document "as-is", "to-be", and future-state architecture models
Provide technical guidance, roadmaps, principles, and standards to support strategic IT decisions
Oversee infrastructure, security, data, and application architecture
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architectural blueprints
Develop transition roadmaps and support bi-modal operations
Advise IT leadership on modern architecture principles and trends
Participate in architecture governance, solution review boards, and investment planning
Support cloud adoption, data modernization, and application rationalization
Ensure alignment with CMS's MES modularity vision and MECL standards
Deliver knowledge transfer and support strategic IT initiatives
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
8+ years of experience in an enterprise architect role
Proven track record with at least 4 engagements lasting over 3 months in similar roles
Strong understanding of infrastructure, security, data, and application architecture
Systems thinking and ability to see the big picture
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and resolve ambiguity
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) and MECL
Knowledge of IT governance, financial modeling, and investment planning
Familiarity with cloud adoption and data architecture modernization
Servant leadership and stakeholder facilitation skills
Education & Certifications You Need
Bachelor's degree (substitutes for 2 years of experience)
Master's degree (substitutes for 3 years of experience)
Associate's degree (substitutes for 1 year of experience)
