Assist the Deputy Director with conducting and participating in market salary surveysAssist the Deputy Director with the administration of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the determination of exempt and non-exempt FLSA statusServe as the Statewide Classification Manager by maintaining and modifying the job classes, identifying improvements and efficiencies to be gained through the modification of job classes.Review, analyze and provide recommendations to agency requests for in-grade wage increases and unclassified wage increases and approvals.Monitor agency requests and evaluates the potential impact of such actions for efficiency and any need for modification and enhancement.Unclassified on-line requests for new positions, requests to fill positions, and requests for salary increases.Prepare unclassified letters of appointment and salary increase authorizations for the Governor’s Office approval and signature.Provide professional and technical assistance and consultation to agency staff on a variety of human resource topics such as recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, disciplinary issues, performance management, etc.Interprets and explains statutes, policies, guidelines and procedures to job applicants, employees, management staff and other clients. Conducts investigations, performs on-site job audits, and conducts fact findings both independently and as a member of a team. Documents findings and develops recommendations for proposed actions and optional considerations.Performs research, identifies potential alternatives and solutions to a broad variety of issues, documents findings and presents recommendation to higher level management for consideration.Monitor, maintain, and update the OPS website by reviewing current website for improvements and coordinating web changes with IT staff from within the Department.Acts as liaison and internet lead with the Department’s IT staff.Assist with projects related to internet development and redesign of OHR webpages.Update content and post new policies, memos, correspondence, etc.Monitor the PSWEB email box. Provide responses to incoming email correspondence.Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing or administering personnel or human resources functions.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Excel, spreadsheets, salary surveys, SHARP system, State of Kansas classification management system.Post Offer Requirement :
