Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. This position will be located at the Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
As part of the Advanced Space Processing OU E&S team at Schriever Space Force Base the Systems Engineering Functional Manager Level 1 will manage an on-site team of 12-15 multi-disciplinary engineers supporting the BOA / PIT / ESL / ESPN mission.
This dual role combines both functional management responsibilities with technical execution within the BOA / PIT / ESL / ESPN program. The position involves either overseeing lab infrastructure (requiring Software, Cybersecurity, or Administration expertise) or leading lab execution (focused on MDA system testing or analysis).
The ideal candidate will exhibit proven leadership skills, drive sustained high performance while fostering collaboration. A track record of effective communication, problem-solving, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential. The candidate must demonstrate unwavering ethics, integrity, and a willingness to innovate by challenging conventional approaches.
Essential Functions :
Basic Qualifications :
Lab Infrastructure - Software / systems engineering experience including installation, configuration, operating, and troubleshooting software system anomalies. Linux Operating System, Workstation and Server management experience (RHEL 9); in-depth experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform; experience operating under, and managing systems within, NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6 / 3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments; must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II, or higher, certification (example : Security+ CE); maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment
