Laser Welding Engineer - Battery Cells and Packs

LER TechForce is looking for an experienced Welding Engineer to play a crucial role in the production and development of EV battery projects. In this role, you can use your knowledge of laser welding for batteries to make a difference in the automotive industry. Effective communication and attention to details is key, as you will be responsible for creating LiON battery cell and battery pack welding. JOB LOCATION :

Hybrid, relocation assistance available from US, Mexico, or Canada

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING :

• Prepare detailed working diagrams, settings, and parameters of how to set up the laser for optimal welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
• Research and configure the fixturing for the metals to come together for the best weld.
• Review best practices for LiON battery welding for prismatic cells.
• Responsible for defect rate monitoring, improvement, and product sustainability in manufacturing
• Assist with product and process Continuous Improvement (CI) and development activities
• Participate with Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Site Acceptance Test (SAT) protocols
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and eliminate potential defects
• Create, maintain, and update various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure all operators develop a full understanding of process changes
• Attend & Schedule Weekly Meetings
• Lead and complete reviews
