Tax Reviewer Position

We are looking for an experienced Tax Staff member to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position offers an excellent balance between public accounting tax work and manageable hours during tax season. As a Tax Reviewer, you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the preparation and review of various tax documents.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct detailed reviews of partnership, S-corp, individual, trust, and non-profit tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform calculations for quarterly estimates and year-end projections to support tax planning strategies.
  • Address and resolve inquiries from federal and state tax authorities, ensuring timely responses.
  • Research client-specific tax questions and identify potential planning opportunities to optimize outcomes.
  • Oversee the preparation and review schedules for assigned tax returns, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Contribute to the development of staff through training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards in tax preparation and review processes.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in reviewing tax returns, including individual, corporate, and trust tax returns.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation and review processes with a strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with tax research and planning to address complex client needs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively manage client inquiries and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
