Salary : $18 / hr.

Summary / Objective

The ITAD Data Destruction Technician position will work under the supervision of the ITAD Life Cycle Manager to process data-bearing devices in accordance with R2v3, HIPPA, and FIPs compliances. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, collecting and enter data into databases, protection of data through various means. To succeed in this role, the individual should have attention to detail, knowledge of or desire to learn about IT equipment, as well as knowledge of proper data destruction requirements in conformance with companys various compliance certifications.

Enter product details and specifications into an inventory database

Checking data to verify completeness and accuracy

Perform data erasure on storage media in accordance with NIST 800.88 standards

Perform physical destruction on storage media

Cultivate positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Proficient in all department and company policies, procedures and processes.

Maintain warehouse environment to HTG standards as assigned

Report consistently and on time to work

Report on time and consistently to all team meetings

Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Technical Capacity

Knowledge of servers and storage arrays

Accurate data entry skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

General knowledge of consumer electronics (computers, mobile devices, and peripherals)

Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook and Access

Internet research skills

Ability to communicate and cooperate with customers to resolve issues

Ability to work in a team and take direction well

Supervisory Responsibility

None

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and box cutters.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of their shift. The employee is regularly required to bend, reach, stretch and move to perform the duties of this position.The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Customer service experience

Preferred Education and Experience

Previous ITAD experience and familiarity with asset management / value recovery programs

Technical skills to troubleshoot and repair computer related issues
