Systems Requirement Engineer

The Next Generation Products team is responsible for Edison Works premier New Product Introduction (NPI), and this role is for a Systems Requirement engineer.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Systems Requirements Focal for the Next Gen Products programs.
- Manage the requirement specification documents, change process, and communication to the Engineering teams.
- Support the qualification process.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational / product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or a similar discipline focused on mechanical design or aerothermal sciences) from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering position.Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
