Description : Position Description

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Planner is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing operations are scheduled in accordance with customer demands and inventory requirements.

This process must be maintained in accordance with all existing policies and procedures. This position requires the use of analytical skills combined with proven ERP / MRP expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Schedule the manufacturing of all material in accordance with production orders, customer demands, and required inventory stock levels.
  • Using current ERP / MRP and developing best practices involved in scheduling and planning.
  • Respond to customer requests for delivery status.
  • Create daily, weekly and monthly production schedules and work with the appropriate production personnel to ensure adherence to the schedule.
  • Work with the appropriate personnel to resolve production scheduling issues in meeting commitments.
  • Review material and or labor variance and correct or escalate to management.
  • Maintaining daily labor transaction integrity; support ensuring the job labor is appropriately recorded.
  • Expedite and follow up on critical requirements.
  • Work with outside suppliers for secondary operations such as heat treat, painting and plating.
  • Analyze capacity and resource utilization to improve efficiency

Requirements : Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products, in particular Excel
  • Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is necessary
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when necessary
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or project coordination
  • Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but willing to train
  • Planning and scheduling background helpful
