Position Summary :

Under the direction of the Director of Admissions Department, the Supervisor of Intake ensures smooth and orderly processes are followed for responding to Intake calls, referrals, and admission into the hospital. The Intake Supervisor is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing supervision for Intake Staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of Intake Supervisor will assist in daily administrative duties, assist the Admissions Director in assigned tasks, complete Intake Assessor and duties as well as Admissions Coordinator as needed within department. Position of Intake Supervisor requires skill of providing effective leadership within the Admissions Department and the ability to organize Admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and Admission process. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. This includes assisting the Director of Admissions with interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Actively supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of the hospital.
  • Communicates with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
  • Receives all referral / inquiry calls and responds to request for information, assessment and possible admission.
  • Able to effectively serve and work with patients, families, referral sources, community resources as well as departmental, facility physicians, facility co-workers and management team. (heads)
  • Provides and documents thorough and accurate assessment of individuals seeking admission.
  • Assures accurate information is provided to referrals as requested.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications : Clinical licensure preferred.

    Education : Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

    Experience : 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Prior management experience preferred.

    Licensure / Certification : LPC-Associate, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN required in the state of Texas.

    Additional Requirements : CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation including restraint and seclusion policies, within days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
