ATC Automation is seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to support growth across the Northeast Territory. In this role, you will lead initiatives that expand ATC's footprint within the life sciences sector-including pharma, diagnostics, medical devices, and medical consumables-while also developing new opportunities in the transportation and consumer products markets. Key Responsibilities
- Market Development : Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business opportunities within key life science segments such as biotechnology, diagnostics, drug delivery, and medical devices. Lead new market penetration efforts across transportation and consumer product sectors.
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Growth : Develop and maintain a robust pipeline through targeted networking, outreach, conferences, referrals, and inbound activity.
- Client Engagement : Build and strengthen relationships with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, procurement leaders, and various levels of management within target accounts.
- Proposal Development : Create tailored proposals and presentations that address the unique technical, regulatory, and operational needs of life science customers.
- Contract Negotiation : Drive proposal reviews, negotiate contract terms, and close deals that support long-term customer success and align with company objectives.
- Market Intelligence : Track industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to shape business strategy and inform solution development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with marketing, applications engineering, and operations teams to deliver responsive, high-quality customer experiences.
- Reporting & CRM Management : Maintain accurate CRM data and deliver regular updates on pipeline status, forecasting, and key account performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field3+ years of business development or sales experience in the life sciences sectorSolid understanding of drug and device development processesFamiliarity with life science manufacturing practices such as automation, GAMP, and validationDemonstrated success closing high-value deals and building long-term strategic partnershipsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levelsProficiency in value-based selling and connecting technical solutions to ROI and risk mitigationSelf-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skillsAbility to travel as requiredPreferred Skills
Experience working with CMOs, CDMOs, or life science OEM manufacturersBackground in automation or a related technical disciplineKnowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)Prior experience as an Automation Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer is a plusPhysical Requirements
