Position Summary
The Dispatcher and Logistics Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring efficient, safe, and productive scheduling of personnel, equipment, and fleet resources across multiple job sites. This position manages logistics operations from project planning to closure and is instrumental in supporting the company’s high-performance culture, operational excellence, and commitment to safety and service. This is an in-office position.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Planning & Dispatch
- Coordinate and optimize dispatch of trucks, cranes, and field personnel to maximize resource utilization and job efficiency
- Prepare and distribute weekly schedules in coordination with Sales by each Friday at noon
- Monitor and maintain accurate logs of all scheduled equipment, operators, and assignments
- Serve as the primary contact for daily dispatching, problem-solving, and adjusting schedules based on evolving site conditions
Permit & Transport Management
Apply for state and federal transport permits, including super-load permitsCreate transport routes using GPS, mapping tools, and pin drops to ensure compliance with permit lawsOversee third-party transportation vendors and internal fleet logistics for on-time, safe equipment movementMaintain electronic logging devices (ELDs) and ensure DOT compliance across operationsLeadership & Team Collaboration
Lead with professionalism, emotional intelligence, and accountabilityTrain, support, and direct dispatch and field staff to meet project and performance expectationsCollaborate with HR on driver recruiting and onboardingFacilitate effective communication between branches, regions, and departments regarding personnel and logistics needsProject Support & Execution
Attend project kickoff and lessons-learned meetings to align dispatch with project goals and continuous improvement effortsProvide real-time support to crews in the field to address job-related issues and ensure high standards of serviceParticipate in operational briefings and leadership meetings to maintain visibility into current and future workloadAdministrative & Reporting
Prepare daily dispatch reports and ensure accurate transmission of instructions and documentationMonitor weather and external factors that may impact scheduling and suspend operations if necessary for safetyOperate dispatch and communication systems including Microsoft Office, tablets, phones, and Fleet Cost & Care / NexGen softwareQualifications
5+ years of experience in rigging, specialized transport, or heavy lift logisticsDemonstrated experience in scheduling, staff supervision, and fleet coordinationStrong working knowledge of DOT regulations, heavy haul permitting, and civil / construction logisticsAbility to read and understand blueprints and lift / rigging plansProficiency with Microsoft Office and dispatch software systemsStrong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skillsProven ability to lead under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and resolve problems proactivelyDeep understanding of crane operations, job site protocols, and heavy equipment capabilitiesWorking Conditions
Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to job site environments. May require wearing PPE and managing in adverse conditions (extreme temperatures, noise, dust). Weekend or holiday availability may be required based on operational needs.
