Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer

Pay : 45-50 / hr Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and modernization of on-premises and hybrid infrastructure for a leading navigation technology company. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for a technologist who thrives in dynamic environments and can drive end-to-end infrastructure projects from planning and procurement to implementation and optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing virtualization platforms, storage systems, and automation technologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Youll play a critical role in modernizing compute, virtualization, storage, and automation platforms to support resilient, scalable, and secure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support data center infrastructure including Cisco HX / UCS, Nutanix HCI, VMware vSphere / vSAN, and Cohesity.
• Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including automation and disaster recovery enablement.
• Plan and execute new data center setups : assess power, cooling, physical security, and hardware requirements.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Administer Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server environments; ensure performance, availability, and compliance.
• Manage core network services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM); collaborate on routing, switching, and firewall designs.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, configuration documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Travel as needed to support infrastructure deployments and data center operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Technically strong and self-driven, able to own and deliver infrastructure projects end-to-end. Comfortable racking, cabling, and configuring servers and switches. Strong understanding of Cisco and Nutanix hardware. Collaborative and communicative, works well with PMs and cross-functional teams. Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills.
