Job Summary : The Geography Researcher II supports ongoing research projects in the field of geography working closely with a team of researchers and project leads. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing spatial data assisting with fieldwork and data collection activities and contributing to the preparation of research reports and presentations.
Additional Department Summary : The PI is leading or co-leading several large research grants through the NOAA Cooperative Institute for Research to Operation in Hydrology (CIROH). This position contributes to these projects by developing and maintaining critical tools and resources in the lab.
Required Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree and four (4) years of research experience; OR masters degree and two (2) years of research experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications : Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications : Masters degree in Geography Environmental Sciences and Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on Flood Modeling and Geospatial Analysis. At least 2 years of experience in related research.
