Quality and Lab Intern

Position Overview :

The Novelis MMP Spokane team is seeking an Intern for the Quality Team . The person in this role will report to the Quality and Lab Leader. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running samples for OES Check Analysis program completing global casting consumables material testing running various equipment in metallurgical and wet chemistry laboratories for different casting research and / or plant support projects. This position will contribute to local and global initiatives around aluminum casting metal quality efficiency alloy development research investigation and environmental footprint.

Responsibilities :

• Operate Optical Emission Spectrometer machines and software

Run Check Analysis program

Location Profile

Novelis Spokane facility also known as the Molten Metal Processing Group (MMP) is located along the border of Washington and Idaho. Employing approximately 40 people the facility focuses on innovating new products and processes to support Novelis manufacturing facilities along with the Novelis Global Research and Technology Center located in Kennesaw Georgia. Located halfway between artistic downtown Spokane Washington and the scenic city of Coeur dAlene Idaho residents and visitors of the area enjoy an abundance of both indoor and outdoor activities.
