Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Drayage Terminal Manager to establish and grow our Baltimore terminal from the ground up. Starting with a single truck, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and managing all aspects of terminal operations, including driver recruitment, customer service, and ensuring operational efficiency. This is a full start-up mode opportunity, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building teams and processes from scratch.

Key Responsibilities :

• Terminal Operations : Launch and manage day-to-day terminal operations, starting with one truck and scaling quickly.Develop and implement operational processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and safety.Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of drayage operations to meet customer needs.
• Driver Recruitment and Retention : Actively recruit, onboard, and retain owner-operators and company drivers to grow the terminal.Foster a positive culture and build strong relationships with drivers.
• Customer Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the Baltimore region, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.Address and resolve customer inquiries and operational issues promptly.
• Team Building : Hire, train, and manage terminal staff as the operation grows.Promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Financial and Operational Metrics : Manage terminal budgets and P&L, ensuring cost-effective operations.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time performance, driver utilization, and safety metrics.
• Safety and Compliance : Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including FMCSA and DOT requirements.Maintain a strong focus on driver and terminal safety through regular audits, training, and adherence to best practices.

The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
