Electrical Designer

Job Title : Substation Designer- Perm Position

Location : Las Vegas, NV 89146

Salary : $120K Annually plus benefits (negotiable for right candidate)

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years hands-on substation design experience, preferably in a utility environment (but would consider consultant environment as well).
• Highly Preferred that they have PE license. Please include License number and state in which it was obtained with your submittal.

Basic Purpose

Provides comprehensive engineering design services for substation facilities, and ensures the facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations. Leads functional teams and provides technical oversight in performing all phases of projects. Assists with internal training for engineers and technicians. Works closely with managers and principal engineers on higher-level projects, and in recommending and implementing changes that benefit the company.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree from accredited school in electrical engineering and 8 years industry experience as a practicing engineer and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license, must have 10+ years as a practicing engineer.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of :

Substation / control engineering principals and knowledge of other phases of engineering.

Areas of cost control, budgets, finance, and accounting with technical experiences in cost analysis.

Skills such as :

Analytical, interpersonal and communication with company personnel, customers, and regulatory agencies.

Multi-tasking's, leadership, research, analysis, project management, problem-solving and decision-making.
