FoodProbiotics Scientist

Zymo Research is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will engage in cutting edge research aimed at understanding microbial processes interaction and their applications in various fields such as probiotics health and biotechnology. Furthermore the candidate will engage in advanced research focused on the isolation characterization and analysis of bacterial strains. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to significant scientific advancements and collaborate with leading experts in the field of microbiology.

This position is full time fixed term (Duration : 2 years with reevaluation for potential extension).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to investigate microbial physiology and genetics
• Utilize advance techniques in bacterial taxonomy phylogeny and genomics to identify and differentiate bacterial strains
• Perform whole-genome sequencing annotation and comparative genomic analysis of bacterial strains in collaboration with our NGS team.
• Develop and optimize protocols for bacterial cultivation strain preservation and phenotypic characterization
• Analyze and interpret experimental data provide original insights and strategically plan future project directions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate bacterial strain analysis with broader scientific projects

Compensation :

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70000 - $90000 per year at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer if applicable and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation including geographic location experience knowledge skills abilities and other job permitted factors.
