SQL Developer

STATUS : Full-Time Employee
DESCRIPTION : We are seeking a highly motivated SIPR SQL Developer / Database Administrator. This role involves a hybrid of responsibilities, including developing and optimizing SQL code, managing database systems, and ensuring their performance, security, and scalability. You will collaborate with stakeholders to elicit requirements and analyze processes for technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance SQL databases to provide custom solutions for various customer needs
- Write and optimize complex SQL code, procedures, functions, and queries
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in SQL code and database systems
- Design and implement scalable database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and sequences
- Perform database tuning to ensure high system efficiency
- Document technical specifications and user guides for all systems
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions with applications
- Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards
- Monitor database performance and implement improvements
- Provide support for database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications :
7+ years of relevant experience in SQL development and database administrationProficient in requirements gathering, process modeling, and documentation techniquesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about business needsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail that result in the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environmentExperience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational database management systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly languageExperience with database performance tuning and optimizationKnowledge of database security best practicesPreferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and principlesFamiliarity with version control systems such as Bitbucket, or similar platforms such as GIT and SVNExperience with task and Agile management tools such as Jira, including ticket creation, issue tracking, and sprint planningExperience working in remote teams and contributing to organizational successExperience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for database automationExperience with data warehousing and ETL processesEducation : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
