The Digital Business Services (DBS) department at METTLER TOLEDO delivers comprehensive technical solutions to enhance business productivity, drive innovation and ensure an exceptional customer experience. DBS services cover the entire spectrum from infrastructure to applications and from strategy to global operations. Our Data, Analytics & AI team supports and enables the business with AI platforms, expertise and solutions. To help further advance our AI journey and facilitate the implementation of AI projects across the organization, we are looking for a Data Scientist.

You will be responsible to assess, design, build and deploy new AI solutions incorporating analytics, ML, DL, NLP, agentic AI, etc. for beneficial global usage in our diverse business. Understanding the technical aspects, you will also enable and guide business partners in implementing their solutions. You will take an active part in our cross-departmental AI Competence Center, having expertise in data science, programming and software development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about artificial intelligence and motivated to support our community throughout this transformative journey.

To be eligible for this position, you must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring any employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This includes CPT, OPT, F-1, J-1, H-1B, or any other employment-based visa.

In this role, your responsibilities would include :

• Develop and maintain AI-based solutions based on business requirements, especially focused on NLP and LLMs
• Development of agentic solutions, especially around knowledge management, and data processing
• Onboard new teams, users and content onto the AI solutions
• User training about AI in general and the MT internal AI solution specifically
• Your focus will be on company internal AI solutions, with occasional support or development of product related AI models or data analytics
• Design, build, and test AI solutions that meet the needs of business stakeholders and users
• Assist in delivering and preparing datasets for analysis, ensuring adherence to quality standards and improving data cleaning processes
• Understand business objectives and requirements to coach stakeholders in developing models and to prepare the data
• Comply with strict data, intellectual property and security guidelines
• Manage stakeholders, provide transparency on progress, business case and risks
