OVERVIEW
The Quality Systems Coordinator is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of SQF certification, Quality and Food Safety systems including the Prerequisite Programs and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets standards and monitors procedures to ensure food safety at all stages of the operation
Maintains and improves site SQF certification
Leads cross-functional HACCP team
Conducts HACCP reviews, updates etc.
Conducts regular meetings with the HACCP team to exchange information and discuss new procedures or equipment related to food safety
Develops, implements, maintains noncompliance records procedures
Reads, interprets, and cross-references the accuracy of large number of records which requires a broad and specialized knowledge of the content
Creates diverse forms to document and support HACCP systems
Keeps accurate and comprehensive records using a diverse range of documents
Develops training and orientation materials about HACCP and related topics (GMPs, sanitation, etc.)
Conducts formal and informal employee orientation and training in HACCP principles, CCPs, GMPs, etc.
Prepares materials designed to assess employee levels of comprehension on food safety subjects
Interacts with suppliers in order to communicate company standards for quality and safety of incoming products
Makes formal presentations to senior managers to describe HACCP system and related updates
Writes comprehensive procedures for Prerequisite Programs and HACCP system
Practices and promotes GMPs and plant safety procedures
Supports the refinery's goals and values
Professionally represents company at internal and external meetings
WORK EXPERIENCES
A minimum of two years of Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience
HACCP experience
GFSI Audit Preparation and Facilitation
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; food science preferred
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining HACCP and Quality plans
Excellent communication skills
Proficient laboratory skills and techniques
Must be capable of troubleshooting and resolving issues in fast paced manufacturing environment
Extensive computer skills : standard Microsoft Office applications
