Equipment Operator

A successful Equipment Operator shall access specific areas to install, maintain, and / or repair a customer's telecommunications equipment. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction; familiarity with excavation equipment, utility lines and poles, and the functionality of each; ability to use digger derrick and trenching equipment; ability to identify and troubleshoot problems. Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment. (Wrenches, Drills, Ladders, Lanyards, Fork Lifts, Saws, etc.) Proficient in the use of telecom construction equipment. (Aerial Lifts, Dozers, Lashers, Meters, Plows, etc.) Authorized to work in the United States. Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check. Workplace Environment and Physical Demands : To be considered for this position, a candidate must possess the ability to kneel / crawl and work comfortably in cramped and / or enclosed spaces for extended periods, while using repetitive and / or fine hand movements. Work is performed both inside and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation, and in rugged terrain such as back easements, rural locations and at active construction sites. Periodic lifting and manipulating plant and equipment up to 75 pounds is required. Noise level can range from moderate to loud and from intermediate to constant.
