Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Admit / Discharge Unit role requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and proficiency with Epic charting.

Responsibilities

Work in the Advance Care Med / Surg Admit / Discharge Unit within a hospital setting

Patient population includes acute and chronic cases managed through both admissions and discharges

Day shifts running from 7 : 00am to 7 : 30pm, three 12-hour shifts per week

Utilizes Epic EMR for all charting and documentation

Level 1 Trauma care environment

Responsibilities include rapid assessment, care planning, and management for both acute and chronic med / surg patients

Perform bedside lab testing and specimen collection in compliance with unit policies

Adapts patient education based on individual needs using SVI patient education resources

Must follow hospital policies to ensure patient safety and comply with national patient safety goals

Participation in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives is expected

No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Requested time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract

Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment

Returning travelers are eligible only if they have not worked at this facility in the past 6 months following one year of assignment

Requirements

Active IL RN license, temporary license accepted

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

At least one year of recent and relevant RN experience

Documented experience with Epic EMR

Prior experience working in a Level 1 Trauma setting

College diploma in Nursing
