Role Summary \n
Titan Advanced Manufacturing is looking for a CNC Machinist Apprentice (Level 1) to begin a long-term career in precision CNC machining. This entry-level manufacturing role is designed for individuals who want to learn CNC machine operation, basic setup, blueprint reading, measurement, and safe shop practices in a high-quality, ITAR-compliant environment.

Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you’ll gain hands-on experience with CNC mills, lathes, tooling, workholding, and inspection equipment—all while developing the foundational skills needed to advance into a fully independent CNC Machinist role.

Key Responsibilities Machine Setup & Operation (Foundational) \n
\n
- Assist with CNC machine setup following prints and specifications.
\n
Help select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and attachments.\n
Support operation of CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment.\n
Perform basic tool changes, offsets, deburring, and chip / coolant management.\n
Load / unload parts and carry out simple, supervised production tasks.\n \n
Inspection & Measurement \n
\n
Use basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions.\n
Identify defects related to tooling, setup, or equipment issues.\n
Flag out-of-tolerance conditions and notify senior machinists or leads.\n
Apply basic math and quality principles in daily work.\n \n
Process Learning & Support \n
\n
Learn to read engineering drawings and work instructions.\n
Build familiarity with CNC controls, offsets, speeds / feeds, and machine functions.\n
Restart or operate machines safely following standard procedures.\n
Support production flow by following documented processes accurately.\n \n
Safety, Housekeeping & Compliance \n
\n
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\n
Follow Titan’s safety standards and use required PPE.\n
Comply with ITAR regulations and all facility rules.\n
Participate in training, continuous improvement, and safety programs.\n \n
Other Duties \n
\n
Maintain accurate, legible records and shop documentation.\n
Follow work instructions exactly as written.\n
Seek coaching and mentorship to advance toward independent machining.\n
Perform other tasks as assigned to support manufacturing operations.\n \n
Qualifications \n
\n
High school diploma or equivalent required.\n
Experience in manufacturing, mechanical trades, or shop classes preferred.\n
Basic understanding of measurements, math, and mechanical concepts.\n
Ability to learn CNC machine operation and production processes.\n
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.\n
Good communication skills and ability to accept direction.\n
Able to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.\n
Quality or inspection experience is a plus.\n \n
Physical Demands & Work Environment \n
\n
Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs (with reasonable accommodation).\n
Exposure to machining noise, coolant, oils, metal chips, and shop environments.\n
Use of PPE when handling sharp or heavy components.\n
