This position is responsible for managing Customs compliance activity to ensure Caterpillar parts and product flow across international borders in compliance with Customs regulatory requirements specifically pertaining to the application of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and HTS processes. In addition, this role will help ensure Customs compliance requirements are met for Caterpillar through risk management and controls environment.
Through a data focused approach, you will help ensure operational processes are adaptable and scalable for a constantly evolving global trade landscape.
What You Have :
- International Trade : Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
- Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Data Gathering and Reporting : Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

Degree or equivalent experience desiredAnalytical ability with proven track record of continuous process improvement activitiesAbility to simplify, translate and communicate complex conceptsUnderstanding of risk management and controls environmentFamiliarity with Caterpillar Business Units and operationsStrong understanding of international supply chain, both physical flow and data flow, freight forwarders, and Customs brokersPower BI knowledgeData relationships and analyticsTrade compliance certification such as Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Export Specialist, etc.Additional Information :
Primary location : Peoria, IL.This is a fully onsite role Monday to Friday in office.To support a global business, there may be a requirement to travel up to 5%.Relocation will not be offered.Sponsorship will not be offered.Summary Pay Range : $87,480.00 - $131,280.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
