Job Summary :

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II is a patient-facing role that requires a blend of clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills . The PSR II collects and prepares blood specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. Successful candidates will perform phlebotomy in various clinical settings, including doctor’s offices and patient service centers, while maintaining compliance with healthcare and laboratory standards. Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform daily specimen collection and processing duties with accuracy and confidence.
  • Verify patient demographic details and ensure specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence.
  • Maintain a professional and safe work environment .
  • Accurately document records, procedures, and compliance data.
  • Flexibly rotate between patient service centers or in-office locations as needed.
  • Provide clear communication to patients, supervisors, and team members.
  • Support team culture by demonstrating leadership behaviors and customer focus .

Required Experience :

  • Minimum of years phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least years of experience in a patient service center.
  • Proficiency in keyboard / data entry.
  • Nice-to-Have Experience :

  • Customer service in healthcare, retail, or service environments.
  • Familiarity with multiple clinical settings and varied patient populations.
  • Required Skills :

  • Advanced phlebotomy skills across diverse patient groups.
  • Ability to deliver error-free results in a high-volume environment .
  • Independent work capability with minimal supervision.
  • Reliability for flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and on-call.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred in NY).
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Working knowledge of clinical safety protocols.
  • Additional Skills :

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if role requires travel).
  • Strong decision-making ability within established procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Training flexibility — ability to attend sessions based on trainer availability.
