Tesoro Group is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join their team at their Corporate office in St. Paul, MN (55104). The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in Compliance / property management – experience with multiple layers of funding requirements such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) – Section 42, Section 8 – vouchers, and other Affordable Housing Programs (HOM / HUD). The ideal candidate will be able be able to manage, organize and delegate tasks accordingly to the team. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion) or can go direct hire for the right candidate.

This role will be working based out of the corporate office and will be roving between properties as needed.

Salary : $26.50-$31 / hour DOQ. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion) or can go direct hire for the right candidate.

Schedule : Monday – Friday 8am – 430pm. This will be located out of their corporate office in St. Paul and will be roving and hybrid.

The Compliance Technician is responsible for assisting with administering the site's subsidy program and administrative tasks involved with the day-to-day management of the site and is an important part of the Property Management Team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the site-based, property management program compliance
  • Interviews residents and timely processes certifications in accordance with HUD rules and regulations along with policies and procedures
  • Accurately enters compliance information into the system.
  • Supports property management by professionally administering marketing, leasing, subsidy administration, and the turnover operations
  • Prepares all resident files to include all preparatory paperwork.
  • Prepares all move-out material for Property Manager.
  • Prepares completed move-in packets and maintains a supply of all pertinent materials
  • Ensures compliance with state, federal and local housing laws.
  • Stays abreast of any changes in fair housing and affordable housing compliance requirements.
  • Enters marketing information, installs resident, enters vacate notices, prints reports and enters all data into the system.
  • Assists with subsidy administration in accordance with HUD rules and regulations.

Position Requirements :

  • 2 years' experience in property management – assistant property manager or property manager role with compliance duties.
  • Knowledge of government subsidy programs - experience with multiple layers of funding requirements such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) – Section 42, Section 8 – vouchers, and other Affordable Housing Programs (HOM / HUD).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation as this role will be roving between locations.
  • Be able to successfully complete a Kari Koskinen background check before employment.
