Stantec is a leading global provider of professional consulting services in the fields of environmental sciences, engineering, and archaeology. We are currently seeking experienced Archaeology Technicians to join our dynamic team on a project basis for projects in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska. As an Archaeology Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our field programs by assisting with field data collection and analysis. This position offers the opportunity for fieldwork on a variety of projects, including renewable solar and wind, residential developments, wetland restorations, pipelines, transmission lines, transportation projects, and excavation and investigations of cemeteries. This hourly, on-call position will support the archaeological fieldwork needs of the Upper Midwest region. This position requires the ability to work outdoors in urban and remote locations and for extended periods under all weather conditions, often traversing rugged terrain. Stantec is committed to workplace safety and maintaining safe work practices. Extensive travel may be required. The standard workweek is typically Monday through Friday, while overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands and weather conditions. Projects typically run from March through November, with opportunities to travel for fieldwork during the winter months. Multi-week field assignments are common. While based in one of Stantec's offices in Wichita, Kansas City, St. Louis, Des Moines, or Waterloo, Iowa, projects typically will require travel via vehicle or plane for out-of-town field work. This position is primarily fieldwork, but some office work may occur. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather, remote locations, summer heat, winter cold, and rough terrain; as well as bending, stooping, carrying field equipment, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, and making visual and tactile distinctions using color, texture, moisture content, depth, and distance. Ability to walk 4-10 miles per day over rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs. When conducting non-local fieldwork, paid travel time, per diem, and single occupancy hotel rooms are provided. Stantec fleet or rental cars are often provided. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
