Indus Management Group is a Houston based property and asset management company, specializing in renovating, and restoring distressed multifamily properties. With our first acquisition in 2002, Indus Management Group currently manages 39 properties in the Houston / Gulfton area. We specialize in the Class B & C property space, with over 10,000 units under management. Our goal has always been and continues to be to convert distressed properties into uplifted communities.

Job Summary :

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and continuously improving the IT infrastructure that interconnects the company’s 38 locations via communication and networking systems. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the optimal, secure, and efficient operation of these systems while providing technical support to users across all locations. This position requires strong technical skills, problem solving abilities, and the capacity to work in an interconnected and distributed environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in network and systems administration in an interconnected, distributed environment.
  • License / Certification(s) : Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) required. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Ubiquiti preferred.
  • Texas driver’s license and current automobile insurance required.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
  • Expertise in managing firewalls, routers, switches, and other network hardware.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS or Azure).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical problems.
  • Knowledge of or experience within the last five years of Windows 10 or 11 operating systems, plus basic knowledge of databases.
  • Knowledge of or experience within the last five years of network systems (LAN, WAN,) and communication protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP).

Requirements :

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Manages and maintains servers, switches, routers, firewalls, antennas and other network components across the company’s interconnected locations.
  • Monitors the connectivity between the 38 locations to ensure constant and efficient communication.
  • Configures and optimizes LAN, WAN, and WIRELESS networks to ensure security and performance.
  • Provides second- and third-level technical support to users and local teams at each location.
  • Manages operating systems (Windows, Office 365, Exchange 365), databases, and other critical enterprise platforms.
  • Monitors pc stations and network performance, troubleshooting issues related to system failures or downtime.
  • Implements and maintains security policies to protect the network from internal and external threats, including cyberattacks and vulnerabilities.
  • Principal Responsibilities Continued :

  • Manages software updates and security patches across all systems.
  • Oversees backup and data recovery systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Administers communication systems (VoIP, video conferencing, email, etc.) for all locations.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new technologies and updates to communication systems.
  • Ensures the quality of communication services, addressing latency, call quality, and other issues.
  • Collaborates with other teams, such as software development or business intelligence, to ensure systems align with business needs.
  • Works with internet service providers, telecommunications companies, and hardware vendors to ensure proper operation and support.
  • Maintains and creates up to date documentation of configurations, network topologies, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensures IT operations comply with internal process established, and in case of properties comply regulations and standards (NEC Network Electric Code, etc.).
