Position Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning solutions that support organizational goals and enhance employee skills. This role collaborates with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and other team members to create effective training programs using adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and modern learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business leaders to assess training needs and define learning objectives.
Design and develop instructional materials such as e-learning modules, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and assessments.
Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory to create effective learning experiences.
Leverage learning technologies including Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia), and virtual collaboration platforms.
Create engaging multimedia content (graphics, audio, video, simulations) to support learning.
Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and alignment with organizational standards.
Conduct pilot tests, gather learner feedback, and make improvements based on evaluation data.
Track and measure the effectiveness of training programs using Kirkpatrick's evaluation model or similar frameworks.
Stay current on instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or related field (Master's preferred).
2–5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning program management.
Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, etc.).
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM / xAPI standards.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in writing, reviewing, and editing storyboards
Proven knowledge of the ADDIE process, and Kirkpatrick’s 4 levels of evaluation
Complex problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to operate effectively in a team environment
Develop course materials for instructor-led trainings : slide decks, facilitator guides, participant guides, etc.
Design web-based trainings and instructional videos with other materials for specific training purposes
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
Excellent organizational skills
Comfortable collaborating with team members on complex or multi-faceted deliverables
Preferred Skills
Experience designing for blended learning, microlearning, and mobile learning.
Graphic design, video production, or multimedia editing experience.
Knowledge of agile development approaches for learning solutions.
Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG / ADA compliance).
